The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

In the 30 years since leaving Penn State, my wife and I raised two children. Binford was the third generation to attend Penn State. Jennifer is completing her undergraduate studies at University of Wisconsin, Madison. While they were young, I returned to school to complete an interdisciplinary PhD in Education and Psychology at Clark University and to continue in the private practice of rehabilitation counseling. Today I own and manage an office in Simsbury, CT, serving people with disabilities as a leading national provider with the Social Security Administration (www.tickettoworkservices.com). I am a founding member of the National Employment Network Association (NENA). Through our Ticket Institute, we conduct training for interested providers. Recently we were in Phoenix, Tucson, and Little Rock. I also do a lot of court testimony work. After completing my doctoral work, I published an academic textbook, Voices of Reason: Adolescents Talk about Their Futures over Time, and use it in my graduate teaching. I am working on a sequel about what the ten students have been doing for the past ten years since publication. I reside with my wife on Cape Cod, MA, and in West Hartford, CT, along with two dogs, a cat, an iguana, a toad, and an occasional fish. I enjoy reading and get great pleasure from time alone at the beach, especially Cape May, NJ, where I spend time at our family home.
